As soon as he began studying law, Thibault Marmonier’s aim was to specialise in intellectual property law and particularly patent law. As he was fascinated by techniques and new technology, the combination of technical and legal themes made it an obvious choice for him.
He therefore took the Master’s in Intellectual Property in Lyon. During his studies, he wrote a dissertation on FRAND (Fair Reasonable and Non Discriminatory) Licences. This dissertation enabled him to put his knowledge of patent law, competition law, contract law and European law to good use.
On various internships at business law firms and INPI, he gained the tools needed to understand his clients’ economic and legal realities.
This experience and passion for combining law and technology led to him joining Cabinet HAUTIER in 2014. He is currently a patent lawyer at Cabinet HAUTIER and in particular provides services in the field of patents (drafting, priority search), trademarks (availability study, drafting of wording), legal services (drafting of licensing, assignment and confidentiality agreements) and procedure services (preparation of patent registrations, international procedure monitoring, preparation of PCT registrations).
